What are Pets?
Pets are hatchable companions first introduced in Update 1.04. They follow you around the plot and trigger passive abilities at fixed intervals. Players start with three equip slots but can raise that to eight by purchasing slots and ageing pets. Multiple copies of the same pet stack their passive effect.
Pet System Basics
Pets represent a core feature offering players powerful companions that enhance crop production through unique abilities. Players begin with 3 equip slots but can expand to a maximum of 8 slots by aging pets.
Age and Experience
Pets gain experience continuously and must maintain adequate hunger levels to age properly. Older pets provide enhanced abilities including shorter cooldowns and better mutation chances.
Slot Expansion
- • Age 20: +1 slot (4 total)
- • Age 30: +2 slots (5 total)
- • Age 45: +3 slots (6 total)
- • Age 60: +4 slots (7 total)
- • Age 75: +5 slots (8 maximum)
Hunger Management
Feed pets using harvested crops. Different fruit types affect hunger restoration. Pets with empty hunger bars cannot gain experience.

Advanced Pet Strategies
Levelling & Stacking
- • Pets gain XP every minute they're active; hunger drops concurrently
- • Feed fruit to refill hunger and prevent ageing stalls
- • Owning duplicates stacks passive effects on separate cooldowns
- • Max equip slots = 8 (3 base + 5 purchasable/trade unlocks)
Essential Tips
- • Ability Stacking: Multiple pets of same type combine effects
- • Feeding Strategy: Use high-value crops for better hunger restoration
- • Slot Management: Age key pets to unlock more equip slots
- • Event Planning: Keep event-specific pets for seasonal bonuses
Inventory Management
Maximum 60 pets in inventory. Strategic decisions needed for keeping, trading, or releasing pets. Consider purchasing eggs without hatching to bypass limit.
Trading Focus
Limited pets become valuable trading commodities. Focus on collecting event exclusives and high-mutation pets for trading opportunities.
Optimization Strategy
Ideal for Bee or Pig armies - stack multiple copies for maximum effect. Prioritize high-mutation pets like Disco Bee (125x) and Butterfly (50x) for profit maximization.

Q: Do passive timers tick while I'm offline?
A: No, abilities only count down while you're in-game; however, crafted pets still age offline starting v1.10.0.
